NFL Draft

The NFL regular season has just wrapped up and 12 teams get the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl. But what about the other 20 teams? Well, they’ll start preparing for the draft.

January 15th is fast approaching which is the date for underclassmen to declare for the draft.

The 2011 draft order for the top 10 picks are:

ROUND ONE – Top 10
1. Carolina (2-14)
2. Denver (4-12)
3. Buffalo (4-12)
4. Cincinnati (4-12)
5. Arizona (5-11)
6. Cleveland (5-11)
7. San Francisco (6-10)
8. Tennessee (6-10)
9. Dallas (6-10)
10. Washington (6-10)

Of the 10 teams, each seem to need a quarterback with the exception of Cincinnati and Dallas. However, you could include Denver (if the new coach decides to give Tebow a shot), Cleveland (if they decide to stick with Clausen, who had the lowest passer rating in the league) and Tennesse (depends if Fisher comes back). This takes the number down to five teams.

Picking a quarterback that can perform at the pro level can transform the luck of a franchise.

In no particular order, the top five quarterbacks in the 2011 draft, if they choose to enter are:

1. Andrew Luck, Stanford
2. Blaine Gabbert, Missouri
3. Jake Locker, Washington
4. Ryan Mallett, Arkansas
5. Cam Newton, Auburn

If you’re a Carolina, Buffalo, Arizona, Cleveland, San Francisco and Washington fan who would you choose? I know there are better players at other positions in the top 10, but this article is on quarterbacks. So let me know your thoughts.
