NCAA Basketball:Georgetown Coach John Thompson III On Heat Seat
Even though the Hoyas won 74-65 over Rutgers on Saturday January, 15,...
The writing is on the wall for Antonio Cromartie as the Jets will not resign him. Cromartie has established the reputation as one of the NFL’s bad boys and that only means one thing, he is cut out to join the Oakland Raiders.
Rex Ryan
As crazy as the media may try to portray Rex Ryan as, he is far from crazy. If a player can help the Jets make it to Superbowl, Ryan will give them a chance, but it is a small chance. Antonio Cromartie was given a chance to be great for the Jets last season; however, he was only good. And the one thing Ryan has a low toleration for is a player who is not willing to be a vicious hitter on defense. Cromartie has great cover skills, but he simply has not been willing to mix it up it enough. Sure, Ryan would not mind bringing Cromartie back, but he would much rather have Nnamdi Asomugha or Champ Bailey.
To Hit Or Not Hit?
To hit or not hit that is the question for Antonio Cromartie? Cromartie’s career is at a crossroads and he must make a decision to become a more physical cornerback. He is a physically gifted cornerback with a combative personality as evidenced by his recent Twitter war with Matt Hasselbeck. It is time for Cromartie to mature and put it all together on the football field. The lockout could end up being a great thing for Cromartie if he uses the frustration properly and prepares mentally to become a more violent hitter. Cromartie can become one of the more complete cornerbacks in the NFL.
Black Hole
The Black Hole is the type of atmosphere that can bring out something special in a player. If Cromartie put on the silver and black he may become a different player. The Raiders have a strong defense that would only be enhanced by his playmaking abilities in the secondary. Al Davis has never run away from signing players with off the field problems. Cromartie would enjoy the Hollywood superstar treatment that he would receive if he handled his business on the field. It seems like Cromartie and the Raiders were meant to be together, which is why when Antonio Cromartie hits the free agent market, he should sign with the Oakland Raiders.
