NCAA Basketball:Georgetown Coach John Thompson III On Heat Seat
Even though the Hoyas won 74-65 over Rutgers on Saturday January, 15,...
Sports Report 360 examines the top 3 prospects in NCAA basketball.
Jimmer Fredette, PG, BYU
Fredette is an efficient scorer who ended the regular season as the nation’s leading scorer at just under 28 points a game. He has a natural feel for the game and passes the ball very well; however, he must cut down his turnovers to develop into a solid pro point guard. This year there may not be a better overall leader and situational scorer than Fredette.
Kemba Walker, PG, Connecticut
Walker more than held his own in the toughest conference in the nation. He averaged over 23 points a game and only 2 turnovers in the Big East which is no easy feat, when every defense was geared at stopping him. On defense he reaches a bit much, but that will change as he matures. A lightning quick guard with a competitive streak that should help him become a productive player at the next level.
Derrick Williams, F, Arizona
Williams is a tough undersized forward who comes to play hard each game. He averaged just under 19 points and just over 8 rebounds a game. No player did a better job of playing within the structure of the offense than Williams who shot over 60 percent from the field and 3 point line this season. As he matures he will become a better passer on the floor. Williams has all the tools to become a solid pro.
