Eli Manning’s Message To Mike Vick

A lot of people have been wondering why Eli Manning has been a little out of character lately by making sure everyone knows he feels he should be mentioned in the top five or ten quarterbacks in the game. His recent comments were not intended to be a message to Tom Brady because he already outplayed Brady on the biggest stage; however, it was an implicit message to Mike Vick. Vick has magically been anointed the next Steve Young and some people even consider him the top quarterback in football right now. Well, Manning is tired of hearing about Vick and wants to shut the ‘Dream Team’ up.

NFC East Division Title
With all of the offseason additions that the Eagles made, it certainly appears the Eagles have the inside track of not only winning the NFC East, but possibly a Superbowl. The NFC East has always been one of the toughest conferences in football and every team in the division will be gunning for the Eagles this season because of all the attention they are receiving from the media. Last season’s week 15 home loss against the Eagles is the game that will haunt the Giants’ organization forever. It is the loss that will stay with Manning for ever and he has own plan for getting redemption this season. Manning plans to lead the Giants to an NFC East division title this season.

The Message
Vick is getting a lot of attention for a quarterback who has never won a Superbowl and a lot of quarterbacks around the NFL do not like it. Do not be surprised if more quarterbacks have a quiet or loud axe to grind with Vick. The NFL is all about attention, competition, and wins. I have to admit it is nice to see this version of Manning with a large chip on his shoulder and do not be surprised if he and Hakeem Nicks are even a stronger quarterback-wide receiver combination this season. Manning is going to have a great season.
