Does Eli Manning Want Brandon Jacobs To Leave Team?

Eli Manning

Last time a disgruntled running back left the New York Giants, the team went on to win a Superbowl the next season.  Tiki Barber will never forgive himself for retiring to soon.  Along the way, Barber burned many bridges and made several disparaging remarks about Eli Manning.

Now the latest prima donna running back, Brandon Jacobs has done his best to let anyone know who is listening that he is ready to leave the Big Apple and play for another team.  His comments have to be rubbing teammates the wrong way because he has lost a step and it has come to a point where many fans would not mind seeing him leave the team.

The team has started the season very effectively and looks like they should have a great opportunity to win the division, and do well in the playoffs.  Eli Manning has established the reputation for making erratic throws at times, but taking a business approach to the game.  Being the quarterback of New York team is a very difficult task and at this point with Ahmad Bradshaw playing so well, the franchise quarterback probably cannot wait for what is becoming the biggest headache on the team, Brandon Jacobs to get out of town.

Have you watched this team for the last few years ??  Jacobs took a pay cut so the Giants could sign Bradshaw.  Bradshaw was coming off two broken feet, and Jacobs was projected to take the majority of the carries, in what has always been a two back attack.  Running as he does, Jacobs has accumulated a lot of wear on his body.  Both runners play through pain.  Both runners have been mutually supportive of each other, to the point of publically pronouncing their relationship to be like “brothers”.  That Jacobs mentioned in passing in a MEN’S HEALTH MAG. that after the end of NEXT season he doesn’t think HE might be in the GIANTS’ plan is blown as out of proportion as Eli’s stating his belief that he’s an elite q’back (and we are all seeing how THAT’S been working out).
I’m not sure of what a poll of the fans might conclude, but ask Eli if he want’s Jacobs out of NY, the next time Brandon stonewalls an on-rushing defender, or catches a curl-and-go pass out of the backfield for a touchdown, or scores a 10 yard touchdown run when the whole defense is waiting for a rush.
Suggesting Jacobs is a “distraction” is the type of High School BS that has no reality in the Pro game, and is only the most recent example of what I detest the most about most “fans”
