Bernard Berrian

With Bernard Berrian recently waived by the Minnesota Vikings, he has some soul searching to do, but the good thing is he still has a lot of good football left to play and unlike Chad Ochocinco, he is capable of learning his playbook.   He still is very good route runner who specializes in his ability to get separation from defenders.  The two teams that he could immediately have an impact on are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Josh Freeman is struggling this season and could use a veteran receiver and although the team team passed on Derrick Mason, it would be a mistake not to add Berrian to the receiving corps.  He would give a Freeman a security blanket outside of Kellen Winslow and has the speed to consistently stretch defenses.  Raheem Morris seems to specialize in finding ways to motivate players who come from other teams and here is the perfect chance for him to work some magic and get a quality receiver back to playing at an elite level.  While, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers seems like a great fit, every receiver would like to play on a big stage, which is why Berrian might be a perfect fit on the New York Giants.

New York Giants
Eli Manning’s favorite receiver right now is Hakeem Nicks and although Mario Manningham is an emerging talent he still has some work to do.  Every quarterback loves having a veteran receiver and the addition of Berrian to the team would give the Giants one of the stronger receiving corps in the NFC East.  This is one receiver who specializes in making big plays, which is exactly what the team could use more of.  He is also a good blocker, which would instantly win him favor with Tom Coughlin.

The Future Of Bernard Berrian
The work ethic of Bernard Berrian has never questioned and it was definitely time for a change of scenery. I think he would be effective for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the New York Giants, but the Giants would be a slightly better fit because he would do something special things when paired with Hakeem Nicks. Hopefully, he will get focused and help a team reach the playoffs and possibly reach a Superbowl this season.
