NFL Rumors: Should Tom Brady Lobby For Defensive Help?

Tom Brady is having another great regular season, but the Patriots are only measured by playoff success and championships.  After six games this season, the team has the worst defense in the NFL and if things do not improve quickly, the team is not very likely to win a playoff game this year.  Over, the last couple off of seasons, he has not trained with most of the team in team workouts, but to his credit, he has always performed on the field in the regular season.  It certainly appears his passion for the game is still there, but a big part of winning is getting great players from other teams to come play for the team.  Of course, there is not a receiver who would not love to the play with Tom Brady in the entire NFL because he is going to be regarded as one of the all time greats. 

However, if he does not have a great game right now, the team will almost assuredly lose. It is probably time for one of the highest paid players in the game to step outside of his comfort zone some and demand some defensive help.  He should speak out on the team’s need to add Lance Briggs, Chris Harris or bring back Lawyer Milloy or even Rodney Harrison at this point.  The defense needs to be a lot better and it does not seem to have a lot of answers right now.  Just like Tom Brady made a signature statement, when he got a haircut earlier this season, it is time for him to lobby to management to add some defensive help, if this team is going to win a playoff game this season.
