Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Top 3 Reasons Fight Won’t Happen

Sorry boxing fans it is time to face reality, the so called superfight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is not going to happen, which will certainly impact the perception of boxing.  Here is a few reasons why the fight is doomed.

Ego
“Money May” is not going to give in on the purse split and what percentage he believes he deserves, while continuing to set records concerning pay per view numbers. “Pac Man” is not going to fully give in on testing issues beyond what the Nevada Boxing Commission typically does for all fights. Also, “Pac Man” realizes “Money May” may need this fight due to back taxes, legal issues, and if the fight does not happen, the man known as “Pretty Boy” is headed for some major financial hardship trouble. If the fight does not happen “Pac Man” has a great opportunity to get some pay back on “Money May” for allegedly accusing him of steroid use.

If the Juan Manuel Marquez and “Pac Man” decide to face each other once again, it will be another grueling war that is sure to take a lot out of both fighters. It is the type of fight that would require both fighters to need at least nine to twelve months of rest for a full recovery. That would push a potential super fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather into the fifteen to twenty-four month range, which will probably end the desire for both fighters to face one another.

Public Interest
The superfight between the two fighters is being fueled by public interest and a legitimate shot that “Money May” may lose for the first time in his career. The fight should have already taken place. Anyone who thinks in 15 months to 24 months there will be any interest in this fight is sadly mistaken. The truth is Manny Pacquiao does not need Floyd Mayweather because he is the people’s champ. Unfortunately, “Money May” waited to late and a potential forthcoming fight with Amir Khan is probably not going to help his image. This fight should have happened, but it won’t. Somewhere Dana White is laughing at it all from a distance.
