Tale of the Tape: Tim Tebow vs. Cam Newton

Cam Newton has swept the NFL by the first half of the season as seems to be on his way to rookie of the year. Right now Tim Tebow is in the doghouse with fans because of his inconsistent play, but actually has an equivalent starting record as a starting quarterback.

A year ago, I did not think it was even a question that the answer was Newton, but he seems to have won many of skeptics won over with his play on the field. However, Tebow whether it is for religious reasons or that perception that he is not good enough, now has quite a few haters on his game.

Confidence- Tim Tebow vs. Cam Newton
Unfortunately, Tebow cannot be feeling that confident right now because offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is not calling plays that suit the strengths of the much maligned and scrutinized quarterback. Newton is a little more hip so he calls his version of confidence on the field, swagger, and his team seems to feed off of it, even though he is only 2-5 as a starter. He is definitely on cloud nine right now.

Determination- Tim Tebow vs. Cam Newton
Newton definitely plays the game with a chip on his shoulder, but it is just human nature to relax, when things are going so well. However, Tim Tebow has to have an extreme amount of determination to find a way to succeed after all the comments made by Merril Hoge and Keyshawn Johnson. He might be reluctant to ever do another interview with The Denver Post, since they do not think highly of him as a player. He is most determined football player on the planet right now.

More Game On The Field, And With Women- Tim Tebow vs. Cam Newton
On the surface, this seems like the answer would be easy. On the field, Cam appears to have much more game than Tim on the field, but off the field is probably a push between the two. While, Cam has been reported with many ladies most notably Angela Simmons and Ciara, because of Tim’s decision to abstain he has an equal amount of women around the world fighting to earn his attention.

Be Attached To Football Longer- Tim Tebow vs. Cam Newton
Newton appears to be headed on his way to having a long career and then will use his charisma to become the next great sports media personality and businessman. He will be attached to the game for the rest of his life. If, Tebow does not pick it up he will become an NFL journeyman with a fairly short career and after he is done with football he can pursue his real calling, which is becoming a successful politician.
