Top 5

This edition of Debates of the week features Tom Brady vs. Eli Manning, NBA, and Price Fielder.

1. Who’s playing better right now: Tom Brady or Eli Manning?

At this moment, Eli Manning is playing much better than Tom Brady. I am not saying that Eli is better than Brady all time, but I think that he is playing at a higher level right now. I feel like Eli has had a much more difficult road to the Super Bowl than Tom Brady. Eli has had to go though the defending champion Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, and tough San Francisco 49ers. On the other hand, Brady has gone though Tebow’s Broncos, and the gritty Baltimore Ravens. I think that the road for Eli was much harder, and I feel like he is at a higher level than Tom Brady at this very moment. Eli going though the frozen tundra of Lambeau field, and the rainy swamp of Candlestick. Brady has been at home for both games, and did not play great against the Ravens. But the Super Bowl will be the ultimate test for both quarterbacks as they play each other for the second time in the Super Bowl. We will have to wait and see who finishes the best.

2. If your the Orlando Magic, What’s the Best deal for Dwight Howard?

If I am the GM for the Orlando Magic, I want Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum, and a couple of draft picks. I can center my team around two post players that can score 15-22 points a game, and 10 rebounds a game. Andrew Bynum in my opinion is a much better offensive player than Dwight Howard, and the same for Pau Gasol. I think if you rank the best power forwards in the NBA, I think Pau is right at the top anywhere from 3-5, and maybe even number 1, if you measuring total skills. If I’m the GM of the Magic I want this more than, Brook Lopez, Blake Griffin, or a package of Amare Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler. Right now, I think that with Dwight Howard on the Magic, they are just getting worst. They’ve have two embarrassing defeats against the Celtics, and I think its just about time to trade him away. I think its time from the Magic to move on.

3. Was signing Price Fielder to a reportedly 9 years, $ 214 million dollars a bad idea?

When you got around the MLB, and look at some of the contracts given to players that are not max players, with max money, you laugh, and say “why?” But I think this is NOT that situation. I think if you think about it, a very good move. Prince is only 27 years old, and had a great season last year, and helped the Brewers to be one of the best teams in the MLB. He hit for .299 BA, 38 HR, 120 RBI. When the contract is over, he’ll be 36, and will be a struggling DH like Jim Thome, or Alex Rodriguez. And remember, he’ll be able to play DH for a long time if he can not play first base. I like the fit with the ball club, and I think that Prince Fielder, and Miguel Cabrera are probably the best 1-2 punch in the MLB. But we dont know how this is going to turn out, so we’ll have to wait and see.

4. Best Finals ever? Nadal vs. Djokovic.

Yes, Without a doubt in my lifetime. I have never seen a final like that. Nadal looked like he was going to win after going up 5-4 going into the last few games. Then, in my opinion, I think the point that changed the entire final was the missed easy backhand that Nadal missed, and gave full edge to Novak. After the thrilling final, Novak showed great emotional, and physical strength. Both these players deserved to win, but they couldnt. Sadly. Novak is no doubt the worlds number one, and he is head and shoulders above everyone else. Nadal put up a great fight, and is a close second at best.

5. Super Bowl Prediction: Patriots vs. Giants

Im taking the favorite underdog in the New England Patriots. The Giants are a great team, and are as hot as they were in 2007, but I think the Patriots are becoming the underdog, and Brady is looking for revenge, and wants his 4th ring, in the house that Eli’s brother Peyton build. Now, I could go into a huge rant on why the Patriots are going to win, but Im not. Its a gut feeling, and I just think that the Giants magical run runs out in the Super Bowl.
