Maybe realizing the public and many boxing fans are starting to lose interest in seeing a megafight, Floyd Mayweather recently decided enough was enough and it was time to call out for Manny Pacquiao for a May 5th fight.

On his twitter “Pretty Boy” Floyd stated, “Manny Pacquiao I’m calling you out let’s fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see.  My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk.”

It remains to be seen if this will be enough to get “Pac Man” in the ring, but it may force at least some type of major response from the people’s champ.  Previously “Pac Man” had challenged “Money May” to a winner take all fight on Jimmy Kimmel to which Mayweather’s camp never responded.

It is a tragedy that the two biggest stars in boxing have not been able to find a way to get in the squared circle, so that the world can see two elite warriors push each other into an epic battle.  The animosity and dislike between the two biggest fighters in the sport appears to be genuine, so just maybe Floyd Mayweather’s disrespectful tweet may lead to a fight on May 5th.  That’s a huge maybe though.
