Floyd Mayweather has gone a long way toward killing the megafight with Manny Pacquiao after recently announcing he will not do a 50/50 purse split with “Pac Man”. The reality is for this fight to do well, the self-proclaimed bad guy needs the good guy. It is not realistic for “Pretty Boy” to think he is going to control the fight date of May 5th, the purse split, and the drug testing. ”Pac Man” holds as much if not more importance as ”Money May” does in this fight because many fight fans want to see a fighter that could potentially put a blemish on “Pretty Boy’s” unblemished record.
Commenting on his recent conversation with Manny Pacquiao, “Money May” recently stated, “I also let him know we both can make a lot of money. He ask about a 50/50 split and I told him no that can’t happen, but what can happen is you can make more money fighting me then you have made in your career. I also let him know I’m in control on my side but he needs to get on the same page with his promoter so we can make this fight happen.”
Well, it certainly appears ego and selfishness has probably killed this fight. While, it will be debated if Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters of all time, if this fight does not happen he will become undisputedly the most hated fighter of all time by many fight fans. It is a harsh assessment, but his legacy is definitely taking a negative hit right now because this fight has not happened largely do to his demands.
