NCAA Basketball:Georgetown Coach John Thompson III On Heat Seat
Even though the Hoyas won 74-65 over Rutgers on Saturday January, 15,...
Speed kills and it was truly amazing to watch Jeff Demps over the last four seasons pull away from defenders throughout the nation. He will be remembered as the fastest person ever in the University of Florida football program and one of the fastest men ever to put on a college football uniform, which is a tremendous accomplishment.
Making a decision that is sure to put far less damage on his body, he will not pursue a lucrative career in the NFL, but now will set his sights on representing the USA in track and field, and figuring out a way to chase down Usain Bolt. The two-time NCAA champion in the 60 meters who has also posted a 100m of 10.01 will do some special things, once he officially is placed on the US Olympic Team.
Commenting on his decision to just run track, Demps recently stated, “I can have the mindset of a full-time track guy now.”
It should be fun to watch Jeff Demps blaze down the track and who knows he just might be the man who ends up beating Usain Bolt.
