NCAA Basketball:Georgetown Coach John Thompson III On Heat Seat
Even though the Hoyas won 74-65 over Rutgers on Saturday January, 15,...
Count me in the skeptics, who thought the last name I would be hearing from again was Jaime Moyer this season. Yet, he has defied odds once again and is proving that at 49 years young, that age is simply a number.
He recently earned a roster spot on the Colorado Rockies’ pitching rotation, which is quite an accomplishment, and it will be important that he step up this season so that the pitching rotation collaboratively can minimize the damage of losing Ubaldo Jimenez to the Cleveland Indians last season. He also needs to play well as Jorge De La Rosa continues to work back from rehab.
Always remaining the consummate professional, commenting on making the team, Moyer recently stated, “It’s an opportunity, and I think it’s a great opportunity to try to take it and run with it.” Hopefully, he will have a solid pitching season and perhaps the Rockies will be the biggest surprise in the National League West.
