NCAA Basketball:Georgetown Coach John Thompson III On Heat Seat
Even though the Hoyas won 74-65 over Rutgers on Saturday January, 15,...
After hitting .283/8/25 during the 1st half of this season, Bryce Harper flashed a tremendous amount of unlocked potential. It was amazing to watch his versatility alternating between left and center field seamlessly, but more importantly flashing a nice burst of speed and anticipation with 8 stolen bases.
It certainly will take two to three seasons before he is ready to become the unquestioned leader of the Washington Nationals due to selfishness and maturity issues, but it is clear that the young phenom is on the fast track to Cooperstown. Intuitive scouts who have watched him closely, can’t help but notice how the young talent reminds them of Brett Favre in the sense, that teammates respect his talent, but in ways he believes the sports system as a whole should not apply to him. Harp does mind breaking a rule or two or alienating teammates.
Commenting on his selection to 1st all-star game, Harper recently stated,”I think it’s exciting to go and I’m excited to get there and be around all the top guys in the country, of course, top guys in baseball. So I’m just going to take it all in, try to enjoy it with the family and try to just be as mellow and calm as I can.”
So far so good, lets hope the great baseball player can remain focused.
